Keeping Keen on Vitamin K

Vitamin K is a network of several similar compounds which make up the Vitamin K Family; consisting of Vitamin K1, K2, and K3. Vitamin K is best known to regulate blood clotting, so if you have any injuries you do not continue to lose blood. Another important roll given to this network of K’s is keeping calcium in check to help prevent bone loss. By keeping the majority of the calcium in the bones and away from the arteries, Vitamin K prevents osteoporosis. You should not need to take any extra vitamin K in your diet as long as you keep a healthy diet including some of the following: Leafy Vegetables, Onions, Cabbage, Broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and Dairy.
