As we age we lose the moisture in our skin that gives it a youthful glow, and it gets drier and starts to sag. In addition we are prone to get wrinkles, fine lines and age spots. To make it more complicated, we find it hard to hide our imperfections with make-up. When we apply heavy foundation and powder, it makes our wrinkles and fine lines look more prominent!
Dr. Wright’s Tip
You can bring out the best in your mature skin, without accentuating the dryness and wrinkles. Here is what to do: make sure to include a concealer and a light-reflecting foundation. Start off with your concealer on trouble spots. Make sure not to over apply because your concealer can crease under the eye. Some problems that a concealer can help cover are spots under the eyes, redness, broken capillaries, dark circles and sun damage. You can use a concealer brush or your finger to lightly dab and blend in the concealer. Try our Prévia Cosmetic Concealers. They are not too oily or creamy. The coverage is flawless and easy to blend. Next, use a sponge or a foundation brush and apply your light-reflecting foundation. Blend carefully along the hair and jaw line to ensure even, flawless coverage. Light-reflectors add luminosity to your skin and soften the look of fine lines. Try to avoid matte foundation, which could cause your skin to look dull or dry. Only apply foundation on needed areas. For your best match, test at least three foundation shades and examine them in natural light. Our Prévia Foundation is a great choice for mature skin. It is very light weight, but covers well, which ensures dry skin looks youthful and radiant.
