The holidays are not the time to rely on the same old boring beauty tips, especially at this time of year when we have our corporate holiday parties. It is time to embrace those reds, crimson, grays, or to be daring and try blues. It is time to step out of the norm and into something daring. All day long at work you get by with the minimum, which is a little blush, light foundation, and maybe some lip gloss. Now is the time to you wow your co-workers with your beauty skills.
Dr. Wright’s Tip
There are 3 things to keep in mind when trying to achieve great holiday make-up.
1.) You can add shimmer and not look like a teenager. Shimmer can be your best friend when doing your make-up. It can highlight and accentuate your best feature, however applied wrong it can make you look as if you are attending this year’s prom. My recommendation would be to apply shimmer right over the eyeball, in the center over the iris or in the inner corners of your eye. Shimmer can also be a lovely tool used to highlight the cheekbone, by applying a little glitter just a thumb’s length away from the eye.
2. Be alluring with your eyes without over doing it. When applying eye make-up you can wow them with a nice smoky eye. You don’t have to be limited on what color you like to wear, but make sure that it compliments your skin tone. If you want to create a smoky eye effect then use navy blue eye shadow and eyeliner. The hottest holiday colors are your classic black, silver and sparkle of some sort. You can use a black with sparkles black or even just your basic black for a holiday look that is more dramatic. Try our Prévia Cosmetic Line which carries a true black called “Carbon” and shimmer in “White Diamond” which will be great to capture that smoky eye look.
3. Red lips are the best way to compliment any holiday event. For the lips you can always add a nice sheer red lip gloss in our “Spunk” that is a light hint of red. If you are going to be daring with the eyes then minimize the lips and vice versa. If you are going to down play the eyes then intensify the lips. Try using our “Flaunt” with a shimmering lip gloss in “Spunk” to top it off. This way your make-up will be the talk of the party at your next holiday event.
