For any holiday event you want people to notice that you are stunning and breath taking. You want to make sure everything is in place, especially your hair. A perfect hairstyle can make or break any wardrobe. Before you tackle a new hairstyle make sure that it fits your face shape.
Dr. Wright’s Tip
Knowing your face shape will take the guesswork out of what hairstyle would accentuate your features. You can determine your shape by doing the following; take a ruler and measure the widths or your brow, cheekbones and jaw line, and then length of your face from the forehead to the chin.
- Long Oval shapes – the widths of your brow, cheekbone and jaw are almost equal.
- Round- your forehead and jaw are curved at the corners and your face is nearly as wide as it is long.
- Square- If the length of your face is almost equal to its width, you’re a square shape.
- Heart- You fall into this category is you’re wide at the brow, but especially narrow at the jaw line.
For long and oval shapes you always want a balance, you want to make sure to cancel out narrowness. Soft curls is the key, or by adding curls. Round faces you want to give the illusion of an oval shape. Make sure to avoid fullness to the sides. You can add volume to the top and bottom. For square face shapes your main objective is to soften the jaw line. By adding tapered layers and flirty fringe you will master the goal of softening your appearance.
For heart shapes you want to draw the attention away from a strong chin. Therefore brow grazing fringe or mid-length layers would bring more focus to eyes and cheekbones.
